Fort Saskatchewan High School is a comprehensive grades 10 - 12 facility located in the City of Fort Saskatchewan, just northeast of Edmonton, Alberta. Currently serving a population of about 500 students, fort High provides high school and adult education programs to the northern portion of Elk Island School Division. Students are educated by 35 professional and support staff in academic subjects, practical and fine arts, second languages, technology and career studies, athletics, and in knowledge and employability skills.

Statement of Philosophy, Beliefs, and Expectations

 

The mission of Fort Saskatchewan High School is to

provide an educational environment that fosters personal

development.  The school is dedicated to discovering,

developing, and maximizing each student's potential --

intellectually, socially, emotionally, physically and spiritually.

 

In accordance with the above mission statement, the school will:

  • impart basic skills and general knowledge with opportunities for creative and critical thinking
  • provide for the student's social development and healthy use of leisure time through participation in extra-curricular activities
  • encourage the development of wholesome attitudes, habits, self-discipline and self-esteem in a positive environment
  • cooperate with the family and other groups in the total educational development of the student
  • prepare students for careers they may choose after graduation and teach them skills and attributes necessary to cope
  • create a stimulating environment which allows not only for  growth, challenge, and interaction but also provides worthy examples, reinforces good behavior and rewards excellence in academic and  non-academic pursuits.
